My emotional journey with Adobe Flash Cs4 has begun, I call it Flash Crash 4!
I recently installed Intel SSD on my work desktop (i7 2.93), backed up all of my work, formatted the machine and reinstalled Adobe Creative Suite 4 and a bunch of other programs. After updating Flash cs4 to 10.2, opened an .fla that I was working on before the harddrive implants, and that’s how the fun began! The most beloved message in the Flash community, yes you guessed it, it crashed, and is still crashing everytime I open an .fla!
I thought I’d give Flash cs5.5 a go, so I’ve download/installed (home laptop) the trial version. After working on a project for several days I’ve decided to back save it as cs4, and it asked me if I want to replace the existing one? and so i did… checked for my file today? And it’s not even there! This is when a SWF decompiler comes in handy to return your library assets!
A question to myself; do you still love flash? Yes, but not when I lose several hours of work!
P.S: I do use Tortoise svn at work, it’s just unfortunate I don’t use it at home!
